Quality Education Nepal - a Rotary Project


LEARN ("Lifting Education, Advancing Rural Nepal") is the NGO we established in 2014 to deliver our teacher training.

The Rotary Club of Kyneton is the sponsor Club of the Nepali Village Initiatives Project which is registered with Rotary Australia Community Service (RAWCS) as Project 43/2009-10. 

The Rotary Club of Pokhara Annapurna is the "in-country"  sponsor of the Nepali Village Initiatives Project.  

We are registered with Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) as project 43/2009-10.  You can make credit card donations via the RAWCS website.

Don Cullen, a Director of QEN, is the only Rotarian in the world operating actively in Tibet, running the Tibetan Village Australia project.Tibetan

The Himanchal Education Foundation is a non-profit corporation based in the US, set up to support Himanchal High School, Nangi village, Nepal.

Thanks to the great initiative of Mahabir Pun, this project is progressively linking Nepali villages to the internet, providing much needed communications. 

The AHF seeks to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of the people of the Himalaya through improvements in health, education, environmental sustainability and conservation and culture and the arts. Its directors have a wealth of experience of visiting and working in Himalayan countries including Nepal.  The Foundation conducts projects with similar goals to ours. 

Anyone seeking inspiration to support projects for improving education in third world countries should read Greg Mortenson's books "Three Cups of Tea" and "Stones into Schools".  Greg established the Central Asia Institute to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  He was subsequently discredited, but has since endevoured to restore his reputation.
